Trip Overview

Sikkim: 5N/6D – 2 Night- Gangtok, 1 Night- Lachen, 1 Night-Lachung, 1 Night- Gangtok

Detailed Day Wise Itenary

Meet & Greet on arrival at NJP Railway Station / IXB Airport & transfer to Gangtok (5,500 ft.). On arrival Check-in to hotel & rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay at Gangtok.

After breakfast, start an excursion to Tsomgo Lake (12,400 ft.) and Baba Mandir (13,200 ft.), which is 55 km one-way from Gangtok City. Overnight stay in Gangtok.
Tip:- You can also Visit the Nathu La Pass (Innerline Permit Required, Charges Extra 4000/- to 5000/- per vehicle).
(In case of a Land slide or any other reason Tsomgo Lake is closed we will provide alternate sightseeing.) If small vehicle: Nathula part will be sharing basis (additional charges)

After breakfast, check out of the hotel with limited luggage and proceed to Lachen (8,500 ft.), North Sikkim. On the way, take a break for some beautiful spots worth seeing and visiting, like Naga Waterfall, The Confluence of Lachen Chu (River) and Lachung Chu (River) at Chungthang, and Bhim Nala Waterfall. On arrival at Lachen, check into your hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at Lachen.

Early Morning drive to Gurudongmar Lake (17,100 ft.). Back to the hotel & after lunch transfer to Lachung (8,700 ft). Arrive in Lachung by evening. Dinner at the hotel. Overnight stay at Lachung.
Tip:- You can also Visit the Kala Patthar (Inner line Permit Required, Charges Extra 3500/- per vehicle

After breakfast proceed to Yumthang Valley (12,000 ft. Known as Valley of Flowers). On the way back, visit Hot Spring considered to have medicinal properties. Back to resort/Hotel. Overnight stay at Gangtok.
Tip:- You can also Visit the Zero Point (Innerline Permit Required, Charges Extra 3500/- per vehicle)

After breakfast Check-out from hotel and take the departure transfers to NJP Railway Station / IXB Airport for your onward journey

(1) How to get a permit for North Sikkim?+

Indian tourists need a Protected Area Permit (PAP) to visit North Sikkim (Lachen, Lachung, Gurudongmar Lake, Yumthang Valley). Your registered tour operator in Gangtok will arrange the permit. Carry a government-issued photo ID (Voter ID/Driving License) and two passport-size photos. Foreigners cannot visit Gurudongmar Lake but can visit Lachung and Yumthang with a group and a licensed guide

(2) How to get a permit for Gurudongmar Lake?

Only Indian citizens can visit Gurudongmar Lake with a PAP, arranged by a local travel agent in Gangtok. Required documents: Voter ID or Driving License (Aadhar not accepted), two passport-size photos, and, for children below 18, a birth certificate or father’s ID. Foreigners are not allowed at Gurudongmar Lake

(3) What is the best time to visit Gangtok?

The best time to visit Gangtok is from March to June and September to December, when the weather is pleasant, skies are clear, and roads to high-altitude spots are open. The monsoon (July–August) brings heavy rains and possible landslides, so travel is not recommended then

Visit Sikkim from March to June for blooming flowers and clear views, or from September to December for crisp weather and festivals. Avoid the monsoon season (July–August) due to rain and landslides
